Ms Kadayer's knowledge and skills in the area of Verbal Behaviour (VB) is extremely relevant in the field of autism and her continued presence within our community would be of great benefit to all families touched by this disability.

Mr Smith, Herts
Louise is very accurate in her analysis and catching every opportunity to motivate new learning - not only on the child's side but also for the "grown-ups" around. Our son's programming could not be in better hands.

Anonymous, Norfolk
Under Louise's guidance Omi has made significant and remarkable progress, his eye contact has improved dramatically, his periods of social isolation has decreased and he has begun to enjoy the company of others.

Dr Jones, Berkshire
I have known Shelley Brown for 6 months through the work she has undertaken with my autistic son. She has made a significant contribution towards my son's language acquisition and I have no hesitation in referring her to other families.

Mrs Christine Labios
Louise has provided us with hands on education and has visited our home many times to demonstrate with our son practical ways of interacting with him.

Dr ASM Ziaul Hoque
Louise first came to our home in December 2006 and within just four weeks we had seen remarkable progress in our 3 year old son.

Gareth & Sarah Squire
"It was a pleasure to have our consultant Shelley in our home for 2 days. She discussed strategies, demonstrated them, then coached us as we worked with our son. We were delighted to see an immediate improvement in our boy. We really look forward to our next consultation."

Supervision of Teams

At Verbal Behaviour Consultants, we believe that the knowledge and experience we gain by working with a wide spectrum of challenging verbal behaviour conditions gives us a unique insight into how they can affect not only the child, but the families and social groups that child is surrounded by. We also believe that the exchange of information is crucial to the development of effective strategies to assist children in reaching their maximum potential.

This is why we work closely with external agencies and are happy to act as team supervisors – co-ordinating and organising learning programmes for children suffering from behaviour disorders. We are also involved in organising workshops for professionals, where an exchange of ideas can lead to the development of new and more effective treatment techniques. These workshops help both professionals and families understand the challenges of autistic spectrum disorders, developmental and congenital disorders, how they can affect a child’s social and communication skills and how to create an effective programme of education and stimulation to help each child or individual achieve their potential.

For professionals, we also liase closely with other organisations, particularly schools and colleges, to assist in developing effective educational programmes in the child’s normal environment. Our experienced behaviour analysts and psychologists act as team leaders, co-ordinating and drawing together the strands of the child’s social circle and ensuring that everyone is ‘singing from the same page’. By passing on our expertise to teams, we can encourage others to investigate best practice policies and develop new ones that are more efficient and more effective in the treatment of destructive behaviour patterns.

You may already have a team working with your child on a full time or part time ABA or Verbal Behaviour programme, with the actual programme being designed by another consultant or agency. This is okay with us, as we are experienced at working alongside other organisations to develop successful programmes. We can design intensive workshops for your team to help them either update their knowledge from traditional ABA theories to incorporate the most recent research and evidenced Verbal Behaviour techniques. We can either train a fresh team or enhance your existing team’s skills, and can continually update those training sessions to include new techniques and methods. This is typically monthly, but can be more or less frequent as required. The regularity will depend entirely on the objectives of the training. If it is for BACB certification, then we construct courses that adhere to specific amounts of hours required for certification. The team or individual’s training can be based around your child or general training, all of which will be discussed during our initial no obligation, no cost phone call.

Here at VBC we offer team and staff training to agencies, schools, counsellors and psychologists. We incorporate new techniques and methods including the use of webcams, video reviews, book training, phone calls, face to face consultations, one off and ongoing counselling, and BACB training to enhance skills.

We also have behaviour analysis book training which is open to anyone. Our next one begins in February 2010 and costs £100 for the entire course. We will be working through ‘A Behavior Analytic View Of Child Development’ by Henry Schlinger Jnr., one of the seminal works on child behaviour techniques.
