Ms Kadayer's knowledge and skills in the area of Verbal Behaviour (VB) is extremely relevant in the field of autism and her continued presence within our community would be of great benefit to all families touched by this disability.

Mr Smith, Herts
Louise is very accurate in her analysis and catching every opportunity to motivate new learning - not only on the child's side but also for the "grown-ups" around. Our son's programming could not be in better hands.

Anonymous, Norfolk
Under Louise's guidance Omi has made significant and remarkable progress, his eye contact has improved dramatically, his periods of social isolation has decreased and he has begun to enjoy the company of others.

Dr Jones, Berkshire
I have known Shelley Brown for 6 months through the work she has undertaken with my autistic son. She has made a significant contribution towards my son's language acquisition and I have no hesitation in referring her to other families.

Mrs Christine Labios
Louise has provided us with hands on education and has visited our home many times to demonstrate with our son practical ways of interacting with him.

Dr ASM Ziaul Hoque
Louise first came to our home in December 2006 and within just four weeks we had seen remarkable progress in our 3 year old son.

Gareth & Sarah Squire
"It was a pleasure to have our consultant Shelley in our home for 2 days. She discussed strategies, demonstrated them, then coached us as we worked with our son. We were delighted to see an immediate improvement in our boy. We really look forward to our next consultation."

Proactive Parenting

Who is it for?

Those who want better communication in their families, consistent boundaries, and approaches to bring up their children. This workshop is designed for children of all ages, but in particular for those in between 2 and 10 years old.

Workshop Outline:

Do you ever ask yourself the following questions?

  • Why is my toddler having a tantrum?
  • Why won’t my child do what I ask?
  • Where did my eight-year-old get that attitude?
  • How can I make our home more harmonious?

Guiding our children’s behaviour is one of the most challenging aspects of being a parent, but does not have to be a constant unfulfilling struggle. There is no ‘right’ way to parent, there is no ‘typical’ family’, and there are no set ways to encourage and motivate. What there are, however, are proven ways to positively change our children’s behaviour and interactions within our families.

What you will learn:

The TWO DAY or six session workshop will include in depth sessions on:

  • The functions of your child’s behaviour and teaching appropriate alternative behaviours
  • How to deal with inappropriate behaviours in that moment (even when in public!)
  • Getting your child to willingly comply with your instruction
  • Teaching motivation
  • Teaching social skills and independent play skills
  • Teaching more effective communication (from non verbal through to our more articulate children), which includes spontaneously giving you information about their day.

We will give you a brief overview of the different operants and functions of language, and those which may need to be taught a little more intensively in order for your child’s conversation to come along. We will also teach you the key components to reinforcing your children so as they continue to engage in the appropriate behaviours.

There are role plays and specific Q and A sessions. If you have concerns about your child(ren) in regards to their development, these can also be addressed.
