Ms Kadayer's knowledge and skills in the area of Verbal Behaviour (VB) is extremely relevant in the field of autism and her continued presence within our community would be of great benefit to all families touched by this disability.

Mr Smith, Herts
Louise is very accurate in her analysis and catching every opportunity to motivate new learning - not only on the child's side but also for the "grown-ups" around. Our son's programming could not be in better hands.

Anonymous, Norfolk
Under Louise's guidance Omi has made significant and remarkable progress, his eye contact has improved dramatically, his periods of social isolation has decreased and he has begun to enjoy the company of others.

Dr Jones, Berkshire
I have known Shelley Brown for 6 months through the work she has undertaken with my autistic son. She has made a significant contribution towards my son's language acquisition and I have no hesitation in referring her to other families.

Mrs Christine Labios
Louise has provided us with hands on education and has visited our home many times to demonstrate with our son practical ways of interacting with him.

Dr ASM Ziaul Hoque
Louise first came to our home in December 2006 and within just four weeks we had seen remarkable progress in our 3 year old son.

Gareth & Sarah Squire
"It was a pleasure to have our consultant Shelley in our home for 2 days. She discussed strategies, demonstrated them, then coached us as we worked with our son. We were delighted to see an immediate improvement in our boy. We really look forward to our next consultation."

Wendy Kiefel, Australia

Our Values

We’ve seen first hand how families have to struggle to get help when someone they love is in difficulty. We believe that every individual, no matter what age or income, has the right to access the best intervention and help.

Verbal Behaviour Consultants (VBC) was established by Louise Kadayer, Behaviour Analyst and Psychologist, BCABA, GbrChPsyc and lead consultant and director of the organisation. She watched as a close friend had to endure a constant battle between getting the right help for her autistic child and the excessive service fees she was charged for that help.

Recognising that the system put in place by the health service was overstretched and under-resourced, VBC was established to ensure parents and families got not only the information they needed to help their children progress, but essential, hands-on help through an active support network of families in similar situations. By establishing these networks our families support each other, helping those coping with autism and other behavioural and developmental disabilities establish solid relationships with like-minded people.

Moving Forward

VBC uses the most recent research to provide methods of support, which have been proven to progress development in autistic and developmentally disabled children and young adults. The aim is to move them to a point where they are indistinguishable from their peers and have more control over their own lives. We campaign actively for ongoing, affordable services for parents, both in the public and private sector. We often hold free forums and seminars to parent groups who may not have been given all the information they need to make an informed decision as to how their child should be treated. It is our plan to continue with these forums, bringing the power of knowledge to those who need it so desperately.

Active Progression

VBC wants to see active progression in the provision for children, teenagers and adults with developmental delays. There is no age limit to the individuals we work with – babies as young as three months through to adults beyond their forties all need the help and support that a true network and specialised intervention can give them.

With international support and a growing network of members with a huge range of personal and professional experience, VBC is moving the treatment and support of those with developmental disabilities forward into the 21st Century.

Our Christian Values

Our founding director and some of our staff are motivated by, and derive their values from their Christian faith.

These values include:

  • Love
  • Forgiveness
  • Acceptance
  • Equality
  • Honesty
  • Transparency
  • Respect
  • Self-giving service

That same faith drives our commitment to equal opportunities in our employment practices and our work with children, adults, couples and families. We will not tolerate discrimination on the grounds of faith, race, colour, nationality, citizenship, age, gender, marital status, political views, disability or sexual orientation.

Members of staff who do not share our Christian faith nevertheless embrace the Christian values that underpin our work and that make it so successful and they are all committed to our equal opportunities policy.

Our perspective on our faith is summed up as the belief that:

  • Life in all its fullness is God’s intention for everyone (John 10:10);
  • God’s ongoing mission in the world is to make this a reality for anyone willing;
  • God gives people the incredible privilege of joining in that mission.

Our part in God’s mission and our passion is to help people overcome whatever prevents them from living life to the full, no matter who they are or where they are on life’s journey.
