Ms Kadayer's knowledge and skills in the area of Verbal Behaviour (VB) is extremely relevant in the field of autism and her continued presence within our community would be of great benefit to all families touched by this disability.

Mr Smith, Herts
Louise is very accurate in her analysis and catching every opportunity to motivate new learning - not only on the child's side but also for the "grown-ups" around. Our son's programming could not be in better hands.

Anonymous, Norfolk
Under Louise's guidance Omi has made significant and remarkable progress, his eye contact has improved dramatically, his periods of social isolation has decreased and he has begun to enjoy the company of others.

Dr Jones, Berkshire
I have known Shelley Brown for 6 months through the work she has undertaken with my autistic son. She has made a significant contribution towards my son's language acquisition and I have no hesitation in referring her to other families.

Mrs Christine Labios
Louise has provided us with hands on education and has visited our home many times to demonstrate with our son practical ways of interacting with him.

Dr ASM Ziaul Hoque
Louise first came to our home in December 2006 and within just four weeks we had seen remarkable progress in our 3 year old son.

Gareth & Sarah Squire
"It was a pleasure to have our consultant Shelley in our home for 2 days. She discussed strategies, demonstrated them, then coached us as we worked with our son. We were delighted to see an immediate improvement in our boy. We really look forward to our next consultation."

Counselling Psychology

Childhood is a difficult time for many young people. If that child has the added burden of a learning disorder, is facing the challenges of being on the autistic spectrum or has acquired destructive behaviour patterns, without intervention and the right understanding, those patterns can become set for life. This is where we come in.

Verbal Behaviour Consultants are a team of highly experienced and fully qualified experts who make that important link to every family and child suffering from challenging behaviour. Through the art of communication and the ability to listen to the child and the family, our counsellors and psychologists work closely with families on a one to one basis. The most important thing for any child suffering from autism, a developmental delay or any form of social or communication struggle is consistency, and by allocating an experienced consultant to each individual family, we can provide that consistency that actually gets results.

But it’s not just the child that needs someone to talk to. We also work closely with the family so that they do not feel isolated and alone with their challenges. Our network puts families in touch with others who are facing the same challenges every day, and it is this ‘real life’ experience that can prove so important in helping parents understand both their child’s feelings and their own. With expert support from our psychologists and counsellors, we can develop effective and practical programmes of support and development that will enable every child to reach their full potential, whatever the challenges they face. By working in a one to one setting with siblings and parents, we can establish a bond of trust that transcends normal counselling procedures and helps individuals understand the challenges that they and their child or sibling face. Alternatively, we also work with family units to establish a cohesive strategy to help everyone work together for the benefit of both the child and the family itself.

Most children who recover from autism are at risk or depression so it’s important that both they and their family get the psychological help they need. Our psychologists are all members of the BPS with Masters or Doctoral level psychology qualification, and our close-knit team includes an educational psychologist, clinical psychologist, counselling psychologist and school psychologist. They work with children who are capable of functioning more highly, including high function autism, Asperger’s Syndrome, OCD, anxiety and depression.

Our psychologists specialise in Verbal Behaviour therapy, with the emphasis on developing communication skills and social interaction abilities. The most frustrating thing for any child suffering from any of the conditions in the autistic spectrum is a feeling of being unable to really express how they feel. By working with our counsellors and psychologists, we can help those children develop their communication skills and learn how to express themselves in a positive and constructive way.
