Ms Kadayer's knowledge and skills in the area of Verbal Behaviour (VB) is extremely relevant in the field of autism and her continued presence within our community would be of great benefit to all families touched by this disability.

Mr Smith, Herts
Louise is very accurate in her analysis and catching every opportunity to motivate new learning - not only on the child's side but also for the "grown-ups" around. Our son's programming could not be in better hands.

Anonymous, Norfolk
Under Louise's guidance Omi has made significant and remarkable progress, his eye contact has improved dramatically, his periods of social isolation has decreased and he has begun to enjoy the company of others.

Dr Jones, Berkshire
I have known Shelley Brown for 6 months through the work she has undertaken with my autistic son. She has made a significant contribution towards my son's language acquisition and I have no hesitation in referring her to other families.

Mrs Christine Labios
Louise has provided us with hands on education and has visited our home many times to demonstrate with our son practical ways of interacting with him.

Dr ASM Ziaul Hoque
Louise first came to our home in December 2006 and within just four weeks we had seen remarkable progress in our 3 year old son.

Gareth & Sarah Squire
"It was a pleasure to have our consultant Shelley in our home for 2 days. She discussed strategies, demonstrated them, then coached us as we worked with our son. We were delighted to see an immediate improvement in our boy. We really look forward to our next consultation."

Wendy Kiefel, Australia

Consultations

The most important part in the development of an effective and successful programme for any learner is the initial consultation. We begin by carrying out detailed consultations from which we can then establish the needs of both the learner and the family, carers and educators, an effective programme of behavioural therapy and clearly defined goals and achievements for the learner and family to aim for.

At Verbal Behaviour Consultants, we provide both one-off and on going consultation services to schools, families and individuals. Typically we will see our clients for one or two full days for each consultation in as many learning environments as possible. We will see our families as often as is necessary, but usually consultations are only needed once every three to four months. The frequency of this contact is dependent entirely on the needs of your child and your family. We also provide a network of support should you need interim help between consultations.

The evaluation procedures will be guided by the methods of effective teaching found in the literature of Applied Behaviour Analysis, with emphasis being placed on teaching your child to co-operate with instructional demands and to communicate expressively. The methods developed by Drs. Sundberg and Partington and assessment tool, “The Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills” (1998) will guide the evaluation and recommendations regarding teaching procedures for our learners.

Each consultation is recorded for future reference and is used as a baseline of performance from which to measure acquisition rate, with a final summary being dictated at the end of the consultation and a complete report provided for future reference and to help families continue the work at home and in school.

Interim contact is provided via video, phone and email consultation at a reduced hourly rate. Some clients require more frequent contact initially, with all needing fewer and fewer face to face consultations as their child’s programme develops. Throughout the process, consultations take place in the home and at the school of the learner, enabling those involved in the child’s continuing development to cater for the child’s needs. It also allows educators to incorporate the developmental programme into their curriculum in the ‘real world’, giving the learner a continued and sustainable foundation from which they can go on to understand the context of their new skills within a real environment.

Consultations and interim contact is arranged according to the needs of the learner and their family. All of our programmes are highly individualised, following substantial bodies of evidence which have shown undeniable success.

VBC can also provide training and workshops for those involved in the care or education of children with specific learning disorders, helping them to understand the very latest in psychological techniques, verbal behaviour training and aspects of care that are often missed from standard educational practice.
